ATAK Packages, Maps & TAK Integration

ATAK packages and plugins for neighborhood communications. These include essential plugins for data sync, GRG's, offline vehicle navigation, and Meshtastic integration via the built-in Local TAK Server (no separate plugin required).

ATAK-CIV 5.8.0 from TAK.gov

Unselect all, and then Select: ATAK-CIV civ-release.apk + DataSync + GRG Builder + VNS

Map XMLs for ATAK

Pre-configured map tile sets and overlays for offline use, unzip and place in /atak/imagery/ on your device

Meshtastic Android App

Get the current version from the Play Store, auto-updates are fine, there's no version to pin anymore. Enable the Local TAK Server in Settings → TAK Server.

Meshtastic Firmware Flasher

Use Chrome or a Chrome-like browser to flash your Meshtastic devices with the appropriate firmware

Installation Notes

Quick Tips:
  • Install ATAK-CIV loadout first before adding plugins
  • In the ATAK menu, tap "VNS" and then tap "Manage Offline Regions" and download your region
  • The Local TAK Server requires a paired Meshtastic device
  • Map packages can be large - download on Wi-Fi if possible
